2023 Summer Law Student Internship Program

CLI is looking for independent, responsible, hardworking, and entrepreneurial law students for our 10-week summer internship program that focuses on providing legal assistance to low-income and moderate-income consumers.

Interns will spend a portion of their summer at a small law firm and will spend a portion of their summer at a non-profit legal aid office. Placements will be determined by the student’s individual interests.  The responsibilities of interns will vary according to their individual interests and resulting placements; however, interns will generally be involved in client interviewing, community legal education, legal writing & research, and preparing legal documents.

The program will commence on June 13, 2023 and will conclude on August 5, 2023.

To apply, please send (1) a cover letter describing how this internship fits your career interests; (2) a resume; (3) a writing sample that does not exceed five pages; and (4) three references by 5/16/23. 2023 Student Mocktail Competition

CLI is inviting students interested in a legal career to participate in the Justice Jam 2023 Mocktail Naming Contest. Submit a mocktail recipe with a unique legal theme. Selected mocktails will be served at ClI’s Justice Jam and the winners will receive law school application review and career consultation.

Justice Jam 2023 Award Nominations

CLI’s mission is to increase legal service delivery in underserved communities. The organization, founded in 2005, realizes the challenges that individuals face in finding quality, ethical and affordable attorneys. CLI provides access to critical legal resources primarily to the communities of Compton, the South Los Angeles, and Southeast Los Angeles County.

In the tradition of CLI and its mission the annual Justice Jam fundraiser, CLI wishes to recognize those who demonstrate the values of our organization within their own lives and careers. Community Lawyers, Inc. is inviting  nominate exemplar individuals and organizations who focus on the betterment of their communities through advocacy, action, and allocation of resources. Those selected will be honored during the program.
