Community Lawyers, Inc. is currently strengthening its partnership with the Compton Community Relations Commission, to expand on an existing, mission-driven community collaboration designed to create an environment of inclusion in Compton, California and surrounding communities.

Community Lawyers, Inc. is currently a part of the Los Angeles Immigrant Integration Task Force that is led by the California Community Foundation, along with key organizations like NALEO, CHIRLA, and CARECEN. The Los Angeles City Mayor’s office has also been heavily represented in these meetings. The task force meets monthly and really allows for CLI to listen to what other organizations are experiencing and hearing from their service populations.

Over the last decade, Community Lawyers, Inc. has developed strong relationships with local Community based organizations, churches, businesses, local community colleges, court self-help centers, and legal aid organizations that currently serve the area. Some of our community partners include: Community Legal Services/Legal Aid Society of Orange County, El Nido Family Services, Our Lady of Victory Church, St. Francis Medical Center, Council of Mexican Federations in North America aka COFEM, The Salvation Army, St. Emydius Church, South Gate Adult School, Lynwood and Compton Unified School Districts, the South Gate School’s Safety Collaborative, local independent WIC service providers, Cerritos, Rio Hondo and El Camino Community Colleges, Oldtimers Foundation, Human Services Association and private attorney offices throughout Los Angeles and Orange Counties. Community Lawyers Inc. has strategically partnered with these organizations to create strong intra-organizational support system to help increase civic participation of immigrant communities through hosting information sessions, workshops and application assistance at their facilities, and to their service populations. In the past, CLI has worked with these organizations to disseminate legal clinic workshop dates and event fliers, and will continue to provide direct-services to community members throughout the region.
