Carolina Lopez

Program Coordinator

Carolina Hernandez Lopez joined the CLI team in January 2023 and works as the Project Coordinator. She is also currently pursuing a Master’s in Social Work with a concentration in Adulthood and Aging at California State University, Long Beach.

Carolina was born in Jalisco, Mexico and raised in South Los Angeles. She became passionate about social justice after witnessing how her community lacked the resources needed to thrive, like free legal services, social services, and healthy food. She attended the University of California, Los Angeles where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a concentration in International Relations. During her time at UCLA, she worked at the UCLA School of Law as Administrative Assistant and then worked as the Spanish Intake Coordinator at the Los Angeles Law and Policy Project, a legal services collaborative that helped low-income people living with HIV obtain legal resources and services. After graduation, she interned for Asian Americans Advancing Justice – LA where she worked alongside attorneys and helped undocumented immigrants receive assistance with DACA applications. She then worked as Project Coordinator at the Los Angeles County Bar Association, Veterans Legal Services Project where she helped low-income Veterans and Veterans experiencing homelessness receive legal assistance with Expungements and Family Law.

Carolina joined the CLI team because she believes that everyone should have access to quality legal services regardless of their income or location. One of her professional goals is to help create an environment where both legal and social services are met for community members.

During her free time, she enjoys cooking healthy food, going on walks in nature, and spending time with her family.
